The visitors created an early opportunity from a free kick into the box. Halai was unable to hold the initial effort under pressure but was relieved to see the loose ball hacked clear for a corner before any real danger could develop.

Irish responded well and began to settle into the game. JJ Meadows picked out Kwai Marsh-Brown inside the area, but his effort was straight at the goalkeeper, while Owen Brooks did well to create space on the left and deliver a dangerous cross that Marsh-Brown again directed at goal, only to be denied.

Irish continued to threaten as they looked the more dangerous side going forward. A cross from Brooks found Mason Spence in the middle of the box and he managed to beat the goalkeeper, but a defender was well placed on the line to clear and keep the scores level.

Enfield had moments of their own. A volley inside the area was saved by Halai, though the flag had already gone up, meaning the effort wouldn’t have counted.

The breakthrough came on 27 minutes. Ryan Smith showed great determination to force his way into the box and reach the byline before cutting the ball back across goal, where Meadows was perfectly positioned to turn home from close range.

Irish pushed for a second before the break and continued to apply pressure. Brooks cut inside and forced a good save, while Meadows created another chance for Ryan Smith, whose first time effort flew over the bar.

Half Time: MK Irish 1–0 Enfield

Irish continued to control the game after the restart and looked composed in possession. Brooks played a well-weighted through ball into Shrieves, who went down under a challenge in the box, resulting in a penalty. Meadows stepped up but saw his effort saved by the goalkeeper, keeping the visitors within reach.

The second goal arrived on 64 minutes and gave Irish some breathing space. Shrieves picked up the ball centrally and drove forward, weaving through the defence before calmly placing a low finish into the corner.

Irish remained on top and continued to create chances, particularly from set pieces. A corner from Shrieves found Meadows at the near post, but his flicked effort went over the bar.

The third goal came on 79 minutes and effectively sealed the result. Shrieves won possession inside the Enfield half and drove forward with intent before entering the box and squaring for Meadows, who finished confidently to secure his second of the afternoon.

Enfield continued to push in the closing stages but were unable to find a breakthrough, with Halai and the Irish defence dealing well with the remaining pressure to preserve the clean sheet.
