Irish kicked off their preseason with a hard-fought victory against step 4 side Aylesbury United.
The match saw MK Irish take the lead midway through the first half, thanks to a well-placed goal by Mason Spence. However, Aylesbury United quickly responded, levelling the game from the penalty spot.
As halftime approached, MK Irish regained the lead with another goal from Mason Spence. A strike from outside the box found its way into the back of the net despite the Aylesbury keeper getting hands to it, putting MK Irish up 2-1.
The second half started with MK Irish extending their lead. Elijah West showing his pace down the left, delivered a precise pass across the face of goal to JJ Meadows, who made no mistake in tapping the ball into an open net, making it 3-1.
Aylesbury United mounted a late surge, coming close, first with a long-range effort that struck the bar and another shot that hit the outside of post. Despite their late pressure, MK Irish held firm, securing a 3-1 victory.
The final whistle blew with the scoreline reading MK Irish 3-1 Aylesbury United, a promising start for MK Irish as they prepare for the upcoming season. A good run out for both sides and an opportunity to bed in some news faces to the side.
